Course Description
This is a basic level class that serves as a foundation for
learning web design and development. The fundamentals of Dreamweaver
and Photoshop will be discussed in-depth. Other tools for development
such as Media Cleaner Pro, ImageReady, and Flash will also be
covered.
In
this course, you will learn how to construct a web site from
the ground up, including site planning, page layout, graphic
creation and optimization, and the integration of multimedia
elements. Students will use Dreamweaver and Flash to turn their
ideas into fully functional web sites in order to prepare themselves
for the real world. We will also be looking at how visual messages
are effectively constructed on the web by reviewing design concepts
and discussing successful web sites.
Other subjects covered include: interface design, interactive
animation. information architecture, Quicktime video, streaming technologies,
search engines, and large scale website development.
In-class discussion and critiques are an essential part of this
course.
