Flash - Lesson 3. Creating an Intro Animation for a Website.

1. Creating a Low-bandwidth Text-based Animation -
1) Preparing the Stage.
2) Layers Setup.
3. Establishing a Background Symbol.
4) Positioning the Guides.

5) Creating and Animating the Text.
6) Adding Frames and Tweens.
7) Fading and Scaling the Letters.
8) Creating and Combining Circles and Letters.

9) Bringing It All Together.
10) Creating Split Fade Transitions.
11) Adding the Film Grain Texture.


2. Discussion of Final Project -
1) 10-12 Second Intro Animation:
  a) Text or logo-based
  b) Must include Skip or Play Again button
  c) Under 100K in filesize.
  d) Due March 20th, 2003.
2) Interface with menu bar and rollovers.
  a) Must be animated.
  b) The buttons on menu bar should go to other pages(screens) even if they are fake or blank.
  c) It should be less than 300k.


HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT:

1) Create a text-based animation that will be part of your intro animation. Make the screen size (window dimensions) 550 pixels wide and 400 pixels high.
